Staff Transitions
The Transition Committee and the pastoral staff have asked Janice Johnson, minister of administration, to serve as staff coordinator following the departure of senior minister Jeff Rogers. In the coordinator role, she will assist the church staff in the church’s day-to-day operations. Vivian Hamilton, Kyle Matthews, Laura Stout, Frank Smith and Baxter Wynn will also be helping to cover specific responsibilities that were handled by the senior minister.
With
an awareness that a number of staff transitions are taking place in the church,
the Transition Committee is charged with supporting the current
pastoral staff
as they manage those day-to-day operations, assisting the pastoral staff and
worship planning team in arranging for guest ministers, hosting and arranging
accommodations for those guests, staying aware of and monitoring any financial
impact during the transition period and assisting with other church transitions
as needed.

Youth Minister Search
The church voted on Sunday, November 20, to approve the recommendation
of the Youth
Minister
Search
Committee,
Personnel Committee and Diaconate to call John R. Callaway as the minister of
youth. His official start date will be May 27, 2012. Youth Minister Search Committee
members included Mary Rankin (chair), Ron Barbare, Mike Dunn, Tedd Garner, Katie
Mitchell,
Turner Stulting, Amy Wylie,
Michelle
