Senior Adult Ministries
The Senior Adult Committee assumes a major responsibility for planning and coordinating the minstry and
fellowship of a very active senior adult group.
Sunday School
A variety of classes are offered for senior adults.
There are classes for men only, women only and for couples.
First Friday Lunch
Occurring at 11:00 a.m. the first Friday of
each month in the Fellowship Hall, this is an entertaining, informational program
followed by a meal.
The lunch is served for a nominal charge. Reservations are needed for the
meal and can be made by calling Syvlia Clyborne at 370-2522, ext. 137.
Senior Enrichment Day
Occurring at 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall,
this is an interactive gathering with optional activities like games, book
reviews, special classes, and/or dance and exercise. The breakout sessions
are followed by a free sandwich and soup lunch. Call Mittie Taylor for reservations
at 370-2424, ext. 122.
Special Recognition
Senior Adult Emphasis Weekend
A special weekend in late spring each year
designed to honor our senior adults.
Trips and Outings
Several trips of varying duration are planned for senior adults throughout
the year to places like Myrtle Beach, SC; Nashville, TN; Brnason, MO; and Disneyworld.
Short outings to the Flat Rock Playhouse, Columbia, SC and shopping in Atlanta

Homebound and Nursing Home Ministry
Active senior adults spend time ministering to other senior adults who
can no
longer get out by themselves. A variety of ministries are provided, depending
on the needs
of the homebound person and the resources of the visitor.
Special Request
The Ministry to Families committee
is seeking
reliable individuals who would be willing
to sit with a senior adult
for a few hours
or perhaps a more extended time frame.Please let us know if you are aware of a
sitter
who is available
or would be available in the near future.
