Baptist Women in Ministry was formed in 1983 by courageous women in the Southern Baptist Convention, who sought to affirm, nurture and support the call of women to the ministry. The organization continues today with its mission “to be a catalyst in Baptist life, drawing together women and men in partnership with God to illuminate, advocate, and nurture the gifts and graces of women.” Through networking they help women find places of ministry and help churches and organizations find quality ministers. BWIM meets each year in conjunction with The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship at which time the State of Women in Baptist Life is presented.

Gina Brock preached at FBCG on Sunday, February 24, 2008, as part of the Martha Stearns Marshall Day of Preaching sponsored by Baptist Women in Ministry (BWIM). The event is named after an eighteenth-century Separate Baptist female preacher. She often stood alongside her brother, Shubal Stearns, and spoke at Baptist meetings. She also assisted her husband, Daniel Marshall, in his churches and preached to his congregation. FBCG joined other congregations to celebrate hearing the voices of women as they proclaimed the gospel in pulpits across the United States.
