About Our Church
Welcome to First Baptist Greenville online! I hope you will also
visit with us in person at the corner of Cleveland and Faris, not far from
Greenville's thriving downtown.
The
central architectural feature of our Sanctuary is a giant “tree of life” that
stands nearly five stories above the floor at its highest point and whose branches
reach out over the congregation's head some 100 feet. It is not merely decorative.
More than half of the weight of the roof is transferred by its flying girders
onto the trunk at the front of the Sanctuary. This architectural tree makes
the room
for all of us beneath its spreading limbs. It is a constant reminder, in the
words of the psalmists, "God is our shelter and strength, a very present
help in trouble" (46:1), and "the Lord is your shade at your right
hand" (121:5).
Join us Sunday at 9:15 a.m. for Sunday School, 10:30 a.m. for worship and on
Wednesdays at 6:20 p.m. for MidWeek Worship as we worship God together as "A
Community of Believers, Each Member A Minister."
